I know, I know – it’s like how a parent’s life can become largely an orbit around anything and everything to do with their child. That’s how it probably seems with every second post here; all Rumble all the time, and I’m sure it gets old in a hurry if you’re not a dog person. [...]

We hiked Rumble down to the dog park this weekend as part of his ongoing workout schedule. He’s supposed to be getting excercise, but as you can see, Rum had other ideas on how to burn calories: It’s an awkward conversation with the owner of the dog that Rumble climbs on for a cheerful hump: [...]
I’ve mentioned before about the pot culture here in Lotus Land, and how Jeff and I only participate by our proximity to other people. We don’t really judge people who toke, it’s just that I’m wildly allergic to marijuana, and Jeff is wildly allergic to- well, everything. We actually like potheads a lot because they [...]

Because of Rumble’s new exercise routine, we had to haul him out to the dog park on Nelson this morning. First thing this morning. Really early. Really. Well, it was like 9 am. Sue me, it’s the weekend. Rum always knows when we go to the dog park and how we get there, so he [...]

Wow, sorry for the dry spell there – our hosting servers had a collective brainfart and screwed up our websites’ addresses, and nobody could find our stuff. The problems seem to have been fixed (thank you again, Mario @ Casting Workbook!) and now we be back online. Anyhoo… My mom & step-dad have recently offered [...]

So it’s become apparent to me that I need to suck it up and quit kvetching about being sick. I’m actually feeling a lot better – my head’s still stuffy as hell but my throat is back to normal and I’m not hacking up a lung like I was this past weekend. Right now I’m [...]

This weekend our child dog Rumble was high maintenance – literally. We took him out to North Vancouver to get his hair cut at Fetch, and Jeff got some practice for when he gets his re-licensing road test. Then today we took Rum to a schnauzer meet-up where he got to meet some buddies. Either [...]
For Valentine’s day, I bought Jeff a little Olympic mascot – the hairy, fuzzy little Quatchi troll-doll looking thing. Jeff loved his gift and Quatchi is now enjoying his place of honor, dangling from the zipper on Jeff’s computer bag. The reason I mention this is that Rumble, our little dog-toy aficionado, has decided that [...]
They say a smart dog has the intelligence of an average 2 year-old. I don’t know who “they” are, but like the saying goes, why would “they” lie? That being said, I often think my dog’s pretty smart… until he does something like this. Then I think “they” are full of “shit”.
This was taken at Horseshoe Bay on Saturday – we figured since we had the car for the day and Rum wouldn’t be done until the afternoon, we’d take advantage and go sightseeing. This is pretty much the only picture I took that day that has the horizon even and my thumb off the lens. [...]
So Rumble’s been looking like a hippie. Very shaggy and sheepdoggish, as you can see here below: So, we took him to Fetch and got him a haircut from the only people we currently trust with our dog outside of John, Kelli and our vet. Fetch is at #104, 120 16th Street in North Vancouver, [...]
Rumble loves the holidays because it invariably involves dropped people-food and more time spent at home – this year though my mom & step-dad are sending a gift that involved having to email ahead and find out his size… Nobody loves getting clothes for Christmas. Especially Rumble, who starts growling when his coat is put [...]
